We wanted to give you a behind the scenes look at what working with Purvis AgriFinance really looks like.

At the end of the day, our goal is to help agribusinesses be understood by lenders, secure suitable finance, and carry out regular loan reviews so our clients can stay focused on farming. Beyond that, we support our clients across almost all areas of finance and pride ourselves on the long term relationships we build along the way.

The first step is simply getting in contact with us. That might be a phone call, an email, or even stopping us in the street for a chat. Sometimes the hardest part is reaching out. We usually say the earlier, the better. If you know you have time pressures, growth plans, or succession discussions approaching, getting in touch early reduces pressure for everyone involved.

Understanding your business and goals

When you first contact us, we will have an initial conversation to understand what sort of support you are looking for, your current situation, any time pressures, and your long term goals. At this stage, we are simply trying to understand what you are hoping to achieve. We may also ask for some financial information so we can begin building a picture of your business. Everything discussed is completely confidential.

From there, we will usually arrange a meeting with you, whether that is over Zoom, on the phone, or in person. This gives us the opportunity to gain a much deeper understanding of both your business and the people behind it.

At this point, we generally have a good understanding of your goals and the type of support you may need.  Taking the time to properly understand both your business and the people behind it is incredibly important to us.

If we believe we can assist, we will send you a proposal outlining our recommendations, fees and the support we can provide. If we feel another specialist may be a better fit, we also have a trusted network of industry professionals we can connect you with.

Preparing your finance application

After this, we will probably have a lot more questions for you! The better we understand your business and the way you operate, the better we can translate your story to lenders. Why we ask so many questions.

We work closely with you to prepare cashflows, supporting information, and any additional documents required. From there, we take your business to lenders and work on finding the most suitable structure for your situation.

Comparing lenders and finding the right fit

When we receive responses from the banks, we sit down with you and go through each option carefully. We want to make sure you understand the true cost of the loans, the different products available, and how each lender operates.

Sometimes this process highlights that your current bank can offer a competitive solution, and if that is the best fit for you, we would never force you to move. We are in your corner and focused on finding the best outcome for your business.

Support through settlement and beyond

Once you decide on a lender, we facilitate meetings, follow up the application, and do our best to take the stress out of obtaining finance. Any questions you have along the way, we are only a phone call away.

Once your loan settles, we make sure everything is running smoothly.

While others may step back at this stage, for us, this is really where our job begins.

Ongoing support as your business evolves

We regularly check in with you to see how the season is going. If we anticipate changes in your business that could affect your finance, we raise those conversations early so we can work proactively with the bank and reduce stress down the track.
