DEB PURVIS – THE BROKER IN YOUR CORNER
About Deb – the person behind Purvis AgriFinance

I am not your average finance broker.
I get agribusiness because I’ve been part of it. I grew up on a cropping and sheep farm in Mid North SA and I’ve supported my husband in his career managing farming businesses through change. For over 25 years, I’ve been working in agribusiness and finance.
I started out as a bookkeeper for farming businesses before spending 11 years as a Rural Financial Counsellor. I worked with farmers, as they made life-changing decisions about their farming businesses.
I started Purvis AgriFinance after my time as a Rural Financial Counsellor.
Too often, good businesses were misunderstood by lenders, or farmers were left trying to make sense of complex finance without clear guidance.
I see our role as a translator between farmers and banks. We understand how your business works on the ground, and we know how lenders assess risk and opportunity. By speaking both languages, we make sure your business is properly understood by the bank, and that you fully understand your finance decisions.
Today, I work alongside my daughter Laura. Together, we combine experience and fresh perspective, offering consistent support and a shared commitment to helping farming businesses secure the right finance for their situation.
Through my volunteer board position with Fat Farmers and previously Hart Field Site, I continue to support local farmers.
Of course, there’s more to life than just finance and agriculture. I also enjoy getting out and about with my husband Rob in our camper trailer and exploring our wonderful country. My two daughters are my proudest achievements and Reggie the Cav is my constant companion in the office.
LAURA PURVIS – THE BROKER IN YOUR CORNER
About Laura

I’m learning from the best to support our farmers.
I grew up on a cropping and sheep farm in the Clare Valley, and both sides of my family were involved in farming. I helped Dad through hay season and lambing, and have seen first hand the support agribusinesses need.
At the same time, I grew up around finance. Mum spent 11 years as a Rural Financial Counsellor, and I always admired the passion and empathy she brought to her work.
When the opportunity came to join Mum at Purvis AgriFinance, it was a no brainer. I have always been passionate about finance and agriculture, and being able to combine the two in a role where I can build relationships and work closely with people made it an easy decision.
My favourite part of the job is helping younger farmers get a start in an industry that can be hard to break into. When banks are unsure, but I can see the vision, I enjoy working with clients to clearly communicate their story and position to lenders.
Our ongoing support means I have built strong relationships with our clients. We are not just there for one loan, we continue learning about their business and support them as they grow and expand in their own way.
Outside of work, I enjoy all things sport and exercise. I play netball for Moonta, and spend my winters bumping into clients at the local football games. I was fortunate to earn a rowing scholarship to Southern Methodist University in Dallas, where I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology and a Masters in Business Analytics. I use those analytical skills in our annual reviews, helping clients track their performance and compare year on year results in a clear and practical way.

Client love
Here’s what my clients say about working with me.
We called Deb when we suspected the bank we’d been with for over 20 years wasn’t looking after us as well as we’d hoped. Deb spoke to the banks on our behalf. She explained the options to us in language we could understand so we could pick which one was best for us. Having Deb’s depth of experience on our side made the whole process very easy.
